Heather is something we can't grow in Georgia - I wish! Our weather can be freezing one day and then we are wearing shorts the next. Bees come out, so when this happens I try to be ready. I've had a tough time finding food sources for such wacky temperatures.

I don't know how I found your blog but it is great. I am studying Permaculture and have a number of articles regarding designing bees into a site. They are not for Georgia but for California it lists California Laurel (their bloom time Dec - Apr) and Heather (their time it says winter/spring/summer) and wild hollyhock (their time January)

Great article about helping pollinators through the colder months! I'm going to link to it on Saturday in my weekly "Best of the Web" at Ecosystem Gardening: www.conservationgardening.com
