- Trees Atlanta – Trees Atlanta is a non-profit citizens’ group dedicated to protecting and improving our urban environment by planting and conserving trees.

- Georgia Native Plant Society – A must for anyone interested in creating a wildlife habitat. Promotes conservation of Georgia’s native plants and their habitats and provides workshops, plant sales.
- Georgia Perimeter College Botanical Gardens – Has plant sales, great information on their site and a wonderful series of mini-classes called “Lunch and Wildflower Series” that anyone can attend.

- Floridata Plant Database – A great place to start when considering a plant for your habitat, practical information and tips.
- Missouri Botanical Garden’s Kemper Center for Home Gardening – Before you grow anything, check their plant finder for details. Includes gardener’s reviews on specific plants, growing conditions, problems and uses.
Online Communities
- Dave’s Garden – Database of plant files with information on how to grow, user reviews of cultivars, educational articles and retail nursery reviews.
- GardenWeb – Forums on every type of gardening you can imagine including a Georgia Gardener’s Forum. If you need help with growing or care of plants, this is a good place to ask.
- Wildlife Gardeners Forums – A bit more of a world view than backyard, but if you have a question on creating a habitat at home they are very friendly and will offer great, realistic advice.
